In a recent interview, Melania Trump went into the matter. She shared how her husband was not a particularly hands-on father, and that he was very busy. She often felt like she was barely in control of her own life, let alone that of others: “I’m not in control of my husband, I’m not in control of his children. I’m not even in control of my child,” the First Lady said.
They say it’s lonely at the top. And often awfully cold. I can see how that might be true. A lot of the children of celebrities and politicians are monumental screw-ups. It’s fairly rare for them to grow up without any issues whatsoever. Perhaps having only one child gave Melania an opportunity to devote her full attention to her son and his needs, something she may have had more trouble with had she given birth to other children as well.
Melania shared in her interview that her husband initially wanted to have more children after the birth of their son, Barron, but that she had made up her mind that one was enough for her. He already had four, so he was not lacking in heirs as it was. Their son seems to have turned out alright, so Melania raised him well and made the right decision.
