The receiver of Marilyn’s phone was in her hand. It’s suspected the scene was staged
during the three hours that elapsed between Marilyn’s last call to Peter Lawford and
the time L.A. police were called. The M.E. found no drug capsule residue in her
system, among many other anomalies. Her body had been rolled so that the
receiver of the phone was found, oddly, clutched in her hand, in the disarranged bed.
